Well, for right now this is is the SHORTENED version, I’ll give the longer version later.
I came into training. Was given a basic idea of the Gopher Tortoise habitat, the issues that surround them, and how man has caused their status to go from “Species of Special Concern” to a “Threatened species.
We are suppose to MARK the Gopher tortoise on certain segments of the shell (on the lower outer edges) designated numbers which are provided to US on the Paper work provided by local biologists.
THIS coming SATURDAY will be my first FIELD Training day! I am excited!! I’ll try to provide pictures.
Okay, hope this isn’t TOO last notice, but THIS FRIDAY, April 10th, 2008. Is the “Gopher Tortoise and Box Turtle Monitoring” volunteer training event.
